News from Portugal

At middle school the 5th and 6th Grades are busy working on the Project. First of all, the students had to learn how to research information on the internet and in encyclopaedia, books... in order to learn more about some important historical and cultural aspects of Portugal.

Then they had to travel around Portugal, from north to south, to discover all the interesting features that Johnny could talk about, like typical Portuguese dishes, historical and cultural monuments, musical instruments, folk dances, important towns and rivers …

Finally they planned Johnny’s trip around Portugal and have started writing out the different stories.

Teachers are also busy planning their lessons.

Meanwhile the 5th Grade (class A) and the 8th Grade (class…) exchanged information about their projects. The 5th Grade talked about Johnny’s trip around Portugal and all the information they learnt about the Portugal’s 18 provinces. The 8th Grade also talked about their project, which is quite different from theirs, and they even played out a play. Everyone had a very interesting time and information was exchange.

On the 5th April the main school held a teacher’s meeting (kindergarten and primary schools teachers) to inform about what was discussed and decided in the Project Meeting in Italy.
